We all love to have a beautiful, radiant, flawless and glowing skin. As women we all dream of having a beautiful skin. We try everything to have one. We have a stressful life, inadequate sleep, polluted environment and hectic work schedule. We run throughout the day looking after our kids and family, that we hardly have time to care about us.

Whoever you may be, a student, a homemaker or a working professional, we desire to have a clear skin. We get confidence if we have a clear glowing skin irrespective of color.

Do you have a skin with acne and scars? Does your skin look rough and dull?  Do you have dark circles? Don't worry, here are some tips to get rid of all the above problems.

Getting a perfect skin not only involves cleansing, toning and moisturizing. Care should be taken to maintain them daily on regular basis. Drinking plenty of water, taking proper nutrients and diet, knowing to lead a stress-free life by meditation and regular exercise are important to have a picture-perfect skin.

Please note that the below suggestions and tips worked for me and I hope it will work for you too. For some, it may not suit your skin. If irritation occurs please discontinue. Avoid the areas of the eye and if there is a cut in your skin.

Let's move on to the tips.....

DRINK PLENTY OF WATER:

Water is a vital element to keep your skin hydrated throughout the day. One should drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.

Carry a water bottle in your bag all the time when you go out, especially during summer. The skin has cells which need water to function properly. When your skin loses its hydration it appears to be dull.

USE SUNSCREEN LOTIONS/CREAM:

Choose a sunscreen lotion/cream With a good SPF of above 15 for your skin. Your skin gets affected by the UV rays from the sun. Apply proper sunscreen cream to prevent the damage made by the sun.

CLEANSING, TONING, AND MOISTURIZING:

One should learn about cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. These process removes the dirt and keeps your skin moisture. These should be done on regular basis to have a beautiful skin.

People with sensitive skin can cleanse their skin every morning and should apply moisturizer before going to bed and after removing the makeup.

Cleanse your skin:

Choose the best cleanser that suits your skin type.
  • If you have a oily skin, gel cleanser can be used.
  • If you have a dry skin then cream cleanser can be used as they are more hydrating.
First, wash your face with warm water. This opens the skin pores. Now rub the cleanser gently with your fingertips in a circular motion which helps in lifting the dirt. Rub in neck area too. Wash off with normal water which closes the pores.
Pat your face dry with a soft towel. Don't rub the towel.

Toning :

Toner removes excess oil and dirt which are missed during washing the face. Only some require toner which is based on their skin type. Witch hazel and Milk are Natural toners.
Just put few drops of toner on a cotton ball and gently wipe it across the face. This cleans and freshens the skin.

Moisturizing :

Use light moisturizer during the day. It also acts like the primer and helps for a better application of your makeup.
Don't forget to moisturize at night to prevent wrinkles. Moisturize your neck and decolletage area as tend to become dry most faster.

Exfoliating:

  • Exfoliating your skin is very important. Choose a good scrub free from chemicals and that suits your skin type. Exfoliate once a week.
  • You can also use sugar mixed with honey which is natural for exfoliating.

TAKE PROPER DIET:

  • Maintain a proper diet. Take a lot of green vegetables and fruits rich in vitamin C. Don't take junk and oily foods.
  • Foods rich in vitamin A And C gives a glow to your skin. It prevents wrinkles and aging.
  • Foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids like fish and walnut are beneficial to skin.

HAVE A GOOD SLEEP:

A good sleep is essential for everyone to kick-start a new day. You need a minimum of 6-8 hours of sleep at the night.
Change the pillow covers once in 4 or 5 days to prevent acne and bacteria which are formed over the pillow cover, spoiling your face.
Relax by meditation and have a stress-free mind before you sleep.

PREVENT ACNE:

Acne is the biggest enemy of skin. They spoil the charm of our face. Acne appears more for the people having oily skin.

  •  Choose your diet and cosmetics accordingly. Don't keep your hands on your face often even for resting your chin. Your hands contain bacteria which produces acne.
  • Don't pop your acne thinking you can get rid of it quickly. It only worsens the situation. Apply salicylic acid gel or benzoyl peroxide as a spot treatment.
  • Tie your hair back while sleeping. You get acne even if you have dandruff. So, keep your hair clean. You can try masks with cinnamon, honey, and neem for acne.

PREVENT DARK CIRCLES:

Eyes are the expressive part of our face. They are the window of our soul. All of us wish to have beautiful eyes. But dark circles make us worried.
You get dark circles if you don't have proper sleep or if you are worried too much.

  • Eye balms and gels are available in stores. Discontinue them if irritation occurs.
  • Grind potato and apply the juice using cotton balls around the eye, over and under eyelids. Potato has a natural bleaching effect.
  • Cut Cucumber into slices and keep it on the eyes for 20 mins. It gives a cool effect and relaxes the eye.
  • Take some cotton, dip in water and place it on eyes. It is a very effective method to relax the nerves of the eye. You also get a clear vision on continuous usage. (Doesn't mean you could completely get rid of your glasses.)

APPLY MASKS:

Applying face mask made of natural ingredients are very effective. Masks made of multani mitti or clay give good results. Along with Multani mitti, milk or rose water can be added.

Rose water freshens our face. These type of masks removes impurities, excess oil and bacteria in your face. Wash your face with warm water and dab with a soft towel before using masks. Wear the mask for 20 mins and wash them off with water.

VISIT DERMATOLOGIST:

If your problem is worse and cannot be treated at home, do consult your dermatologist earlier. Follow the instructions given by your dermatologist.

  • Take care to inform the dermatologist if you are pregnant or planning to have a child as many ointments and pills are to be avoided if you take treatment for acne and other skin related issues.
  • Laser treatment is also used by dermatologist to make the scar disappear.

Follow the instructions above to have a beautiful and glowing skin.
